Spring brings with it an urge to clean: to sweep the corners, shake out linens, open windows, and let fresh air move through every room.
But I’ve been learning that clearing isn’t just for our homes. We are invited to make space within ourselves, too; to let go of what no longer serves, release the weight of what we’ve carried too long, and prepare our hearts for newness.
There’s a quiet relief in this practice. The discarding of clutter, the polishing of surfaces, the prayer whispered as we let go. It feels like a deep breath. Less noise. More room to listen.
This may be why the season draws us to it year after year. We long for tidier shelves and a spirit of clarity, one able to welcome what comes next.
So, let this spring’s clearing be more than a task. Let it be a gentle rhythm of release, a way of preparing room for growth, and a reminder that sometimes the most faithful work is simply making space.
