May gives us a day to celebrate mothers, but the deeper gift of motherhood is found in the quiet rhythm of everyday life.
It is found in hands that soothe fevers and in voices that read the same beloved story once more. You can see it in hearts that carry burdens, often without words.
There are prayers whispered over sleeping children, meals made with care, and a steady kind of love that holds a family together.
And yet, the gift of mothering extends beyond a single role. This kind of care appears wherever there is gentleness, wisdom, and a willingness to care for another.
It appears in homes, classrooms, parishes, and friendships. It is not limited by title, but revealed through love in action.
Much of the world is sustained this way. Quietly. Faithfully. Over time.
May we take a moment to notice, to give thanks, and to honor the mothers and nurturers among us.
Their love leaves a mark that carries on.
