Seeds are tucked into the soil.
We gather bits of earth in our hands and wait quietly for something green to show.
A garden in May has a way of steadying the day.
In time, it begins to take on the rhythm of ordinary days. We begin without knowing the outcome, tending to what is in front of us, and trusting that much of the work happens out of sight.
Some days, the soil looks unchanged, even after we tend to it with care. Not every effort brings results right away. Still, something is happening beneath the surface.
Perhaps this is why gardens often feel prayerful and quietly sacred. They invite us to return, to trust what we cannot yet see, and to notice the smallest signs of life as they appear.
So may this season invite us to tend with patience in the places entrusted to us, our gardens, our homes, our hearts, and the quiet seeds of love we have placed into the days before us.
